ABOUT FABIAN
Not a theory.
A lived
experience.

Where this began
I never saw my son as the problem.
But I could see there was more happening than I had language for. What I was experiencing, wasn't fully explained by what I was being told.
And that's where this began.
My son is on the autism spectrum. Watching him navigate a world that wasn't designed for how his mind works, while also attempting to be the steady presence he required, pushed me further than anything in my previous life had.
And my previous life had pushed me considerably.
"I had the discipline. I had the resilience. What I didn't have was the language, and language, I discovered, changes everything."
The turning point wasn't a breakthrough moment. It was a slow realisation: the approach wasn't failing because I wasn't applying it hard enough. It was failing because it was aimed at behaviour.
When the real work happens at the level of identity, regulation, and language.
Ride The Spectrum was built from that understanding. Not simply from a textbook. From the inside of this life.
THE FOUNDATIONS
Three worlds that
built one approach.
The Ride The Spectrum framework didn't emerge from one background. It came from the intersection of three - each contributing something the others couldn't provide alone.
01
Navy Clearance Diver
Military service forged the mental conditioning, discipline, and composure under pressure that underpins everything in this work.
When your environment is genuinely dangerous, you learn what regulation actually means not as a concept, but as a lived necessity.
02
Fitness & Leadership
Years in the fitness industry and leadership roles in mining taught me how human performance actually works how confidence is built, how identity shapes behaviour, and how the right environment creates change that lasts beyond motivation.
03
Clinical
Hypnotherapy & NLP
NLP and a Diploma of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy provided the language-level tools the first two backgrounds couldn't fully offer, how the mind processes words, how patterns form and reinforce, and how to change them intentionally rather than accidentally.
THE REALISATION
Behaviour was
never the problem.
Every approach we attempted addressed what we could see, the meltdowns, the resistance, the shutdowns. What we weren't addressing was what sat underneath: a nervous system overwhelmed, an identity still forming, and language in the environment unintentionally reinforcing the very patterns we were wanting to change.
When the focus shifted from correcting behaviour to building regulation and when the language at home shifted from reactive to intentional, something changed. Not overnight. Not perfectly. But consistently.
Arguments plateaued sooner. Transitions didn't spike as hard. Confidence - the real kind, not the performed kind - began to build from the inside.
That change is what Ride The Spectrum teaches. Not a technique applied once. A way of engaging that becomes a new default, for you first, and over time, for your child.
